In this series I am exploring the playfulness we feel while walking along the sea shore. We let our mind wander and the sea often catches us off guard. It is about childhood games, a sense of freedom and joy, but it is also about never being quite in control and ready for the unexpected. Working with cyanotypes exposed to the sun and sea on the beach is exactly like that. For me, the process and material have to reflect my feelings.
The cyanotypes were made on beaches in the UK and in France. I am currently finalising them and more will be added to the website. The print sizes range from to 60 X 42 cm to 20 X 20 cm and each print is unique.

This series explores those fleeting moments of chance which pass our lives. Sometimes they are obvious and the opportunity lasts a while; other times they are faint, hard to see and speedy. I have explored those moments in my darkroom using the light of one match only for each unique print. And as the oxygen over time diminishes during my darkroom session, so is the amount and type of light produced by each match.
Each print is a unique 8X10 silver gelatin print (toned fibre paper).
(This series is larger than the prints shown here. Please contact me if you wish to see more prints from this series.)
I have published with Tour Dogs a publication celebrating my love of London. When I moved to London from abroad decades ago, I did not expect to find a city energised by light and dancing lines. It was the beginning of a love affair with London which is still ongoing today.
To accompany the release of this London publication, I have made in the darkroom a limited edition silver gelatin print. The edition is limited to 7 only and is a 8 X 10 inches selenium toned print on fibre (baryta) paper, dated , signed and edited on the back.
The publication and print are only available directly from Tour Dogs Publication at www.tourdogs.com .
Paris, particularly at night or in the early hours of the morning when I like wandering the streets of the Marais.
I am currently working on an artists' series, trying to capture their creative process. Here is a small sample of some photographs of the remarkable artist Robi Walters at work. I have also written a blog about him with more background and pictures. Please do visit Robi Walters' website at http://robiwalters.squarespace.com/ or, even better, his gallery in Soho, London.
